The Farwest Nepal Project

Mapping Nepal's untamed western frontier

We document the uncommercialized ridges, sacred high-altitude grasslands, and remote shepherd trails of Nepal's far-western provinces. Our independent trail logs provide practical, boots-on-the-ground guidance for conscious travelers.

Our Self-Supported Method

Boots on the ground

We navigate these high-altitude landscapes entirely on foot, mapping paths without reliance on commercial tea houses. Every route log, water source, and campsite coordinate is verified through firsthand, self-supported exploration.

By documenting authentic homestays and ancient seasonal migration paths, we provide independent travelers with the cultural context needed to wander responsibly while directly supporting remote mountain communities.

The Conservation Mission

Preserving the wild far west

We map untouched ecosystems to support local families who protect these sacred lands. Our goal is to redirect sustainable tourism away from overcrowded commercial circuits toward pristine, low-impact wilderness areas.

/ The Spirit of Wander

The trails here are carved by seasonal migration, not tourism. We preserve that silence.
